The recent BestCities Global Forum in Tokyo has once more won unanimous approval from its attendees. Australia’s Northern Territory has launched a scheme called the Northern Territory Business Events Support Fund. Event organisers can apply for financial assistance of AU$100 per delegate up to a maximum of AU$50,000, with priority given to meetings that align with key knowledge sectors and whose participants are mostly from out of state. The United States meetings industry generates a massive $330 billion annually, according to the Events Industry Council’s latest Meetings Significance Survey. This is a $50 billion rise since 2014’s first report. In 2016, 1.9 million US meetings took place.
