London’s threatened QEII Centre has had its most successful financial year to date, achieving a £14.2 million turnover in 2017/18, an increase of 24 percent on the previous year. The awards at Battersea Evolution were being held on the first anniversary of the Westminster Bridge attack. Clarion Events has expanded its US operation with the acquisition of PennWell Corporation, a privately-held events, B2B media and marketing services company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Informa has revealed details of its £3.8 billion deal to buy rival trade show organiser UBM. The merger will see Informa’s shareholders owning 65.5 percent of the combined firm, with UBM’s investors taking the remaining 34.5 percent.
