The German Convention Bureau organised an exclusive knowledge-sharing and peer-group platform for event professionals from the finance and international law sectors, enabling specialists to explore the factors that will influence the evolution of their sectors’ events. Future editions are planned for other scientific and business sectors, in German cities where these are strongly represented.
GCB Managing Director Schultze argues that while the world of business events has access to more data than ever before, and destination and venue information is widely available, the real value emerges only when different data sources are connected and placed into a meaningful context. Schultze outlines what Germany is doing to illuminate these connections.
The German Convention Bureau has created the world’s first detailed national map that identifies centres of scientific and technological research expertise and links them with key meetings infrastructure, enabling associations and other conference decision-makers to more effectively plan events taking into account intellectual capital criteria.
The German Convention Bureau is looking to recruit 40 “research fellows” to participate in the first study in a series of research projects exploring the future evolution of business events, and is especially interested to hear from international meeting owners and organisers.
