Central Hall Westminster has launched a new carbon calculator to help organisers estimate their events’ environmental impact. The London conferencing centre is the first UK venue to partner with Green Tourism on the scheme. Gothenburg leads the world’s meetings destinations in sustainability performance, according to the second Global Destination Sustainability Index. The Swedish city also won the Index’s innovation award. Glasgow came fifth, but was also the most-improved over the past year. ICC Sydney says it has prevented the use and discarding of 520,000 plastic bottles during its first ten months by using recyclable glass instead in all meeting rooms.
