In addition to outstanding turnout and interactions, a number of key outcomes emerged from the event, including two agreements of understanding signed with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – one with the Uruguayan Exporters Union, and the other one with the Commercial Chamber of Uruguayan Products. When Uruguay was announced as the next destination for the event, a series of agreements were signed which led to a change in relations between the two countries. They progressed from having a bilateral commercial relationship to being strategic partners, and the basis for a future free trade agreement was set.
