VISITFLANDERS Framework Powers Incredible Impacts Award

One of the final acts of impact aficionado at VISITFLANDERS, Gemmeke de Jongh, saw the unveiling of the organisation’s Impact Framework & Methodology in Bruges, Belgium, applied to the 36th edition of the European Academy of Childhood Disability Annual Meeting last year. The President of the meeting, Elegast Monbalin, joined IMPACT DAY – a gathering of the world’s leading practitioners of the social impact of meetings including #MEET4Impact’s Genevieve Leclerc, a fellow architect of the Framework based on the Theory of Change which aligns to social impact foundations and philanthropic investments.

De Jongh: If people see a structure, they see the light.

De Jongh and Senior Meetings Manager at VISITFLANDERS, Evelyn Bardyn, explain the 4 key pillars – Define, Engage, Measure, and Communicate – as applied to the EACD meeting which secured the ICCA Incredible Impacts Award in partnership with the BestCities Global Alliance, the funds from which are to be recycled into the impact activities co-developed between EACD and VISITFLANDERS.

BestCities Global Alliance MD, Loren Christie, added that the time is ripe for both associations and destinations to act, now that the award-winning framework had been unveiled.

The VISITFLANDERS Framework is the latest addition to the growing stable of impact methodologies emerging from the Business Events Sector, led largely by convention bureaus, alongside the #MEET4Impact BE Impactful Framework , the Copenhagen Legacy Lab, and the VisitBritain BE Impact Framework.
