Marta Gomes

President, ICCA

Marta Gomes has spent nearly 20 years working in the international events and meetings industry. She has collaborated extensively with professors, association executives and destination partners to attract international congresses to Paris, one of the leading global destinations for international events.

As Deputy Executive Director Sales, she is charge of sales and business development for Viparis, who hosts nearly 1,000 events a year in the Paris region. The Viparis Group consists of: Espace Champerret, Espace Grande Arche, Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, Les Salles dy Carrousel, Palais des Congrès d’Issy, Palais des Congrès de Paris, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris Le Bourget, Paris Nord Villepinte and, opening in 2023, CNIT Forest.

The experiences of growing up in Portugal, studying at St. Andrew’s University in the UK, and now working and living in Paris… makes Marta a passionate European. She is a much respected – and highly sought – speaker at major international conferences and congresses. Marta believes in the power of innovation, collaboration and education as a way of driving our industry forward.

Marta joined ICCA in 2006. She served as Chair of the Benelux Chapter between 2009 and 2015. She joined the board in 2015 and was a very popular and visible Vice-President. In 2022, Marta was elected President at the 61st ICCA Congress and looks forward to sharing her vision to help shape the next chapter of the ongoing ICCA story.
