It was my pleasure to welcome Martin Sirk as the new Curator of The Iceberg and its regular newsletter, Business Events World, at IMEX in Frankfurt last month (pictured).

As a regular media commentator, event designer and facilitator, strategic advisor to destinations, associations and tech start-ups, ex-CEO of ICCA, and long-time advocate for our sector, Martin is perfectly equipped to ensure that your communal library of strategic resources becomes ever more valuable when advocating the sector narrative to policymakers, aligning to their wider social, economic, and societal agendas beyond our undisputed direct & induced economic impacts, high yielding contributions to tourism, or supply chain consumption.

Martin was a key catalyst when naming the platform. In fact, the sectoral metaphor of The Iceberg was his idea back in 2017 when we began our journey to broaden the advocacy of business events as change agents rather than just as travel agents.
Martin is releasing me to focus on growing The Iceberg’s ambassador network as we seek to realise MANY VOICES, ONE MESSAGE (please do join us!) alongside the loyal patronage we already enjoy from a wonderful array of the sector’s association and organisational Partners.
Martin’s arrival also allows time for me to capture more video case studies that illustrate the social, economic, and societal impact of business & professional events.
