“Driving Excellence”: The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), was founded in 1968, is registered in Switzerland and today represents 120 professional organisers, meeting planners and managers of international and national congresses, conventions and special events from 41 countries. IAPCO members organise in excess of 8500 meetings annually, totaling some 3.16 million delegates and representing an economic impact in the region of 5.12 billion euros (2015 data).
IAPCO is committed to raising standards of service among its members and other sectors of the meetings industry. Today IAPCO membership offers a unique quality assurance, since entry into membership of IAPCO is by meeting strict criteria and by continuous quality assessment, including annual Quality Check Lists, Quality Self-Assessment and attendance at IAPCO’s Quality Seminar.
The high quality standards are secured by means of continuing education and interaction with other professionals, including the newly launched, accessible, affordable, EDGE [Experts in Dynamic Global Education] seminar programme, alongside IAPCO’s on-line webinars.
IAPCO acknowledges achievement in the meetings industry with their Driving Excellence Awards. Young professionals are recognised with the Innovation Award, designed to commend the most creative and high achieving young member of staff of an IAPCO member company; the Collaboration Award commemorates a unique partnership within the industry; and the Client and Recognition Awards celebrate both our clients and suppliers.
