Ben Goedegebuure

Global General Manager EMEA, Maritz Global Events

Based in The Netherlands, Ben Goedegebuure serves as global general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Maritz Global Events. In his role, Ben provides counsel and supports global strategic solutions for clients, and contributes to the company’s business development, industry presence and thought leadership efforts. In addition, he oversees the Maritz Global Meetings Network – a worldwide network of nearly 30 best-in-class partners representing more than 65 countries throughout the world.

Ben has been involved in different sides of the global conference, events and exhibition industry. With a background in Information Science and Management, Ben has been Executive Director of an international association, has held leadership positions at a global Professional Congress Organizer and has held leadership positions at the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow, Scotland. He led the Glasgow Tourism Service Initiative, “Glasgow Service with Style,” a large-scale public-private sector partnership developed to deliver a world-class tourism and hospitality experience for the city, its visitors and businesses.

Ben is a well-respected industry leader with a diverse background in the meetings industry and in international relations. He is known for his collaborative spirit and ability to create meaningful partnerships throughout the meeting, event and incentive travel industry. He currently serves on the PCMA European Advisory Board sits on a number of advisory boards and panels in the industry, Previously he served as the first non- North American Director on the Board of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), was recently recognized for the prestigious “PCMA Global Meetings Executive of 2018” and was named as one of the 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry 2018 by Northstar’s Successful Meetings.
